A Ukrainian developer created the Porih app for walking, where instead of chasing steps, there are creative photo tasks

Ukrainian developer and photographer Anastasia Kravets has released a mobile app called Porih. The project is designed to encourage people to get outside more often and focus on observing the world around them, rather than on meeting fitness goals or counting steps.
The release of the application was announced by its developer on X (Twitter).
The app is primarily aimed at people who work remotely and often face difficulties when trying to regularly change their surroundings and leave the house. To make the walk more interesting, Porih offers users from 1 to 4 daily photo challenges. The challenges are divided into three levels of difficulty and cover 10 categories, including “Light”, “Nature”, “Mood”, “Faces”, “Stories”, “Time”, “Motion”, “Perspective”, “Color” and “Feelings”.
In addition to single photo missions, the application provides a “Walk Together” function. It allows you to go outside at the same time with friends, even if you are in different cities or countries, complete tasks and share the resulting shots. Users can also create their own missions and choose one of 5 color schemes for the interface. The application fully supports Ukrainian and English.
The developer emphasizes that the service is deliberately devoid of elements of aggressive gamification and attention-grabbing algorithms, such as "series" counters or feelings of guilt for missed days.
“Porih is not about optimizing your walks. There are no streaks to maintain, and there is no daily step goal to indicate whether you have done enough. The goal is simply to make going outside a little easier. If one day you start going outside without the app, that’s the point,” the app’s description states.
The application is already available for download on iOS and Android.
