Google has developed an internal project codenamed Project EAT. Its goal is to empower employees with AI and transform the company into an “AI-powered workplace.”
The project was launched in the AI and Infrastructure division, which is known internally as AI2 and is headed by Google veteran Amin Vahdat. The division manages the development of data centers, chips and other key components that underlie the company's AI technologies, Business Insider writes .
Project EAT began as an internal initiative of AI2 employees in May 2025. Its goal is to ensure the division's leadership in the field of AI: from productivity tools to writing software code.
According to internal documents, the initial 12-week project implemented cutting-edge coding tools within the AI2 division, and testing results showed “promising signs of increased development speed, reduced mundane work, and improved code quality.”
New AI products and standards are currently being piloted within AI2 with the aim of further implementation across the company.
"The primary goal of Project EAT is to radically accelerate the adoption and integration of both Google's own technologies and third-party AI solutions within AI2."
