“What are you doing with your chips found in Russian drones?” Protesters interrupt NVIDIA CEO’s speech in Berlin

Protesters interrupted NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang's speech at the GTC conference in Berlin, demanding an explanation of how the company's chips ended up in Russian drones attacking Ukraine. Huang asked security guards not to use force against the activists, but did not answer their questions.
During the presentation, several people stood on chairs and unfurled a large banner with the Greenpeace logo and the words “Nvidia, clean up your dirty business!”
"Jensen, what about the technology found in the Russian drones? Those were NVIDIA chips. What are you doing with that?"
The activists demanded answers to this question and also accused the company of causing environmental damage. As security began to escort the protesters out of the room, Huang said he would talk to them later. Then he returned to the presentation.
The protesters' claims are related to reports of the use of NVIDIA Jetson Orin modules in Russian weapons. In particular, in August, Ukrainian intelligence reported on such a module in the S-71 Monochrome cruise missile. It can be used to run artificial intelligence algorithms.
NVIDIA has previously explained that Jetson Orin are civilian computer modules, not intended for military use. The company says it does not sell them in Russia, but cannot track subsequent resale of the devices.
Western components are entering Russia through intermediaries in third countries. As dev.ua wrote with reference to Reuters, from August to December 2023, companies from Hong Kong sent NVIDIA products worth $17.6 million to Russia. Before that, the goods were resold in China, Taiwan, Turkey and other countries.
Some suppliers also hide their true activities. For example, according to NAKO, one Chinese company presented itself as a manufacturer of intimate goods, although in fact it supplied Western microelectronics and other components to Russia.
Previously, dev.ua wrote that the GUR discovered NVIDIA Jetson Orin in the Russian V2U strike drone. This module is used for artificial intelligence, which helps the drone independently search for and select targets
Intelligence has thoroughly analyzed the Russian drone with AI "Klyn": it contains components from manufacturers from at least six countries. What are the features of the UAV?
