According to him, a direct channel for controlling drones from the territory of the Russian Federation is currently impossible, since the distance from the UAV to the Russian border is about 500 kilometers. In addition, the distance to the nearest «Shahed» with a modem also excludes the possibility of relaying the radio signal along the chain.
«I assume the re-operation of the radio control point of the „Shaheeds“ from the territory of Belarus, but already at great depths inside the country,» noted Serhiy «Flash».
The expert recalled that at the end of winter, the Ukrainian military managed to stop the operation of Shahed control points from the territory of Belarus. At that time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko was providing the country’s territory for the placement of Russian repeaters for Shahed kamikaze drones.
«We did everything so that three or four of them were gone. We had to do this because Russia used jet drones, but not only through Belarus. They were not only going through their territory, they were going with technological support, which was carried out from the territory of Belarus,» Zelensky emphasized.
According to Flash, no active attempts to restore the operation of the control points have been recorded since then. Currently, the use of modems near the Belarusian border is isolated, and the Defense Forces are fully controlling this situation.
