The First Separate Brigade of the Ivan Bohun Tactical Radio Command successfully tested HIMERA G1 PRO tactical radios, achieving stable communication at a distance of 45 km. The tests demonstrated the effectiveness of the mesh mode, which allows significantly expanding the capabilities of tactical communications.
According to Himera Radios, four devices were used during the testing. Each radio station simultaneously performed the role of a transmitter and receiver, working as a repeater. This made it possible to transmit the signal in difficult conditions without additional equipment and maintain the quality of the connection.
Mesh communication is considered one of the key directions of development of modern tactical communication systems. Its main advantage is the ability to «flip» the signal from one radio station to another, which allows to establish contact even in places without direct visibility. Thus, fighters get the opportunity to communicate in rough terrain, during maneuvers or in case of loss of individual network nodes.
In addition to transmitting voice commands, HIMERA G1 PRO supports the exchange of other data, which increases the efficiency of coordination between units. For the Ukrainian military, this means greater autonomy and less dependence on traditional repeaters, which can be vulnerable to enemy strikes.
The development and implementation of such solutions are critically important for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as modern warfare increasingly relies on mobility and speed of communications. Mesh networks are already actively used in the armies of NATO countries, and Ukrainian tests confirm that national manufacturers are able to provide the military with advanced technologies. Successful tests of HIMERA G1 PRO demonstrate that even in difficult frontline conditions it is possible to create reliable communication channels without large infrastructure solutions.
Previously, dev.ua also published an article about how Ukrainian tactical communications manufacturer Himera Radios introduced a large-scale update for its radios. Version 2.0 includes new capabilities for field coordination, updated software, and even a proprietary application in Ukrainian.
