Remotely controlled Sting interceptors: Ukrainian pilots shot down over 500 targets in three months
In less than three months, the Ukrainian military destroyed more than half a thousand enemy air targets, including Shahed jets. This was made possible by the use of a new remote control technology for interceptor drones, Hornet Vision Ctrl, from the Ukrainian miltech company Wild Hornets.
In less than three months, the Ukrainian military destroyed more than half a thousand enemy air targets, including Shahed jets. This was made possible by the use of a new remote control technology for interceptor drones, Hornet Vision Ctrl, from the Ukrainian miltech company Wild Hornets.
This was reported to dev.ua by Wild Hornets.
Hornet Vision Ctrl technology entered service with the Defense Forces units in March 2026. The largest number of hits was recorded in the Kyiv and Odessa directions - 269 and 168 objects destroyed, respectively. The remaining targets were intercepted in other areas of the front.
The system is part of the broader Hornet Vision ecosystem, which provides stable, low-latency video transmission over long distances. The developers note that in April, pilots confirmed the effectiveness of the technology by destroying targets at a distance of more than 500 km. In addition, the control of the Sting interceptor at a distance of about 2,000 km was successfully tested while the operator was outside the country.
Further deployment of the system in the military is currently underway. In the future, Hornet Vision Ctrl will allow remote control of interceptor drones, which will be launched not only from land, but also from sea and air platforms.
