To maintain the secrecy of the Fire Point production site, journalists were blindfolded and asked to turn off their phones, the BBC report says .
Additionally, journalists were prohibited from photographing any details at the factory itself, such as columns, windows, or ceilings. They were also asked not to show the faces of workers on the assembly line where Flamingo missiles are in various stages of completion.
Such secrecy is key to survival, as two Fire Point plants have already been hit, the BBC reported.
Recall that Fire Point plans to produce military-grade solid rocket fuel , which is a key component for missile systems and unmanned platforms. To reduce the risks associated with Russian missile strikes, the company is building a rocket fuel plant in Denmark .
The company is planned to launch after construction is completed and all certification procedures are completed, approximately in 2026.
Iryna Terek , Fire Point's chief technical officer, told BBC reporters that the company made a conscious decision to purchase as many Ukrainian-made components as possible.
“We adhere to the principle that no one can influence the weapons we create,” she says. Fire Point avoids details from two specific countries — China and the United States.
When asked why there should be no American components, she replies: "We are going through an emotional roller coaster [with the US]. Tomorrow someone might want to shut it down and we won't be able to use our own weapons."
