On April 6, the National Aerospace University «Kharkiv Aviation Institute» (KHAI) was hit by Russian Shahed drones, which damaged the main building.
«KHAI has taken a blow. Another one. Far from the first in the years of full-scale war. But it is very painful», said the acting rector of Khai, Oleksiy Litvinov.
According to media reports, on April 6, the Russians attacked Kharkiv with various types of Shahed kamikaze drones. The Kharkiv Institute building was damaged by the debris of a downed jet drone, which caused serious damage due to the detonation of the warhead. The rector’s office, in particular, was destroyed.
«The main building is the heart of Kharkiv Institute of Technology. The same incredible Christmas trees that greeted generations of students and seemed to cover the university with their peace — today they remain only in photographs. We exhale and are silent. Because the most important thing is no deaths or injuries,» said Oleksiy Litvinov.
It is noted that in total, the university building has already survived more than 200 strikes by the Russians. Khai says that the total amount of damage is already approaching 1 billion UAH.
