“The program closed by itself”. Aviation expert says Russian strikes destroyed Ukrainian ballistics project that preceded Fire Point program

Ukraine is developing a new ballistic missile as part of the Fire Point project in a decentralized manner to avoid a repeat of the scenario where Russia disrupted the previous missile program.
Aviation expert Valery Romanenko told this in an interview with LIGA.net. According to him, during the last attempt to create domestic ballistics, the Russian Federation, literally on the eve of achieving the result, struck several key links in the production chain at once.
The enemy simultaneously hit a missile manufacturing plant, a solid-fuel engine manufacturing plant, a reserve site, and two or three major component suppliers, after which the program effectively collapsed. Romanenko noted that initially this information was disseminated by the Russian side, and the details of the Ukrainian development will become known only after the war.
To eliminate such risks in the Fire Point project, the approach to production has been radically changed. A significant part of the elements for the new missile are planned to be manufactured abroad, where Russia will not be able to hit them. In Ukraine, only large-scale assembly will take place with the involvement of duplicate sites.
The expert emphasized that the Defense Procurement Agency is now requiring manufacturers to create parallel capacities.
"The agency responsible for the procurement of weapons says that what hit you is not force majeure. You should have made a parallel line. The same will happen with our ballistics," Romanenko emphasized.
