The Air Force predicts that future Russian jet drones will accelerate to 900 km/h

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine believes that the share of jet drones in Russian strikes on Ukraine could increase to 80%, and their speed would reach 800–900 km/h. For effective countermeasures, the training of Ukrainian operators and interception means must be adjusted now.
This was stated by the Deputy Commander of the Air Force for Special/Anti-Aircraft Cover, Colonel Yuriy Cherevashenko, during a meeting of the Temporary Investigative Commission (TSK).
According to him, the dynamics of the growth in the number of jet UAVs has been recorded since July.
"Now it reaches 40% of all drones used in Ukraine. In some areas, up to 60% of strikes. And it continues to grow. We predict that about 80% of strikes will be carried out by jet drones," the official noted.
Currently, enemy jet drones are capable of speeds of up to 600 km/h, but the development and modernization of Russian drones is ongoing.
"We predict a speed of up to 800–900 km/h," Yuriy Cherevashenko emphasized and emphasized the importance of early adaptation of Ukrainian interception means to new parameters.
Previously, dev.ua investigated how Russia is scaling up the production of reactive "Shaheds" (in particular, the Geran-4/5 models), which cover up to 1,000 km at the speed of cruise missiles. Because of this, mobile fire groups are gradually losing their effectiveness against high-speed targets, which forces the Defense Forces to look for new technological solutions for their interception.
