Ukrainian defense companies were given the opportunity to train their AI models on 5 million real battlefield footage. What solution was used for this?

The Ministry of Defense provides Ukrainian defense companies with the opportunity to use the Avengers Labs platform to train their AI models for unmanned systems on a large array of real-world battlefield data.
As reported by the Ministry of Defense, the Avengers Labs platform is a development of the Center for Innovation and Development of Defense Technologies — the same team that created the DELTA combat system.
«Avengers Labs is based on an annotated dataset of 5 million frames collected on the battlefield. Most of this material comes directly from the DELTA combat system and is constantly supplemented with new data that has practical value in combat conditions,» the defense department noted.
The ministry added that a dataset of similar volume and quality is virtually impossible for private companies to collect, so it is unique.
Yes, an automatic target detection system has already been trained on the Avengers Labs dataset, which has proven its effectiveness in DELTA and analyzes over 100,000 video streams from drones every month.
«During video processing, artificial intelligence detects 70% of all enemy targets in real time and helps find them both day and night,» the Ministry of Defense emphasizes.
AI models that were trained on the Avengers dataset have two most common scenarios:
the operator fixes the target, and the drone independently corrects the trajectory at the final stage of the mission;
The unmanned system is tasked with entering a designated area, independently detecting the target, and acting in accordance with the mission logic.
«Such scenarios gradually reduce dependence on constant manual control and expand the capabilities of autonomous systems in real combat conditions,» the ministry summarized.
In order to participate in the use of Avengers Labs, defense companies need to sign license agreements with the Ministry of Defense — while defense companies from partner countries can also use the platform.
Before being granted permission to use the platform, the company will also be checked for ties to the aggressor state and international sanctions against it.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are developing an AI system called «Marichka,» which will even allow secret documents to be uploaded. Why do the military need it?
