What the tests of the REDMI Note 15 series showed

During the Titan Lab open testing, Xiaomi demonstrated how the REDMI Note 15 series smartphones undergo endurance testing in scenarios that simulate everyday use. This is not a single demonstration experiment, but a series of tests that cover mechanical loads, water exposure and stability after damage. Xiaomi describes this approach as «REDMI Titan Reliability» — a comprehensive test of the design, materials and internal architecture of the device.

Smartphones were repeatedly dropped onto hard surfaces from various heights, including in the format of serial drops. After such tests, the devices remained functional, which became the basis for positioning: REDMI Note 15 series — the power of titanium .

The flagship models Pro+ 5G and Pro 5G have received SGS Premium Performance certification. The declared durability includes resistance to falls from a height of up to 2.5 meters, as well as resistance to bending and compression. After a series of impacts, the devices continue to work without changes in functionality. The basic models REDMI Note 15 and REDMI Note 15 5G demonstrate resistance to falls from a height of up to 1.7-1.8 meters, which corresponds to the average height of an adult.

The mechanical strength of the case is tested separately. During the demonstration, smartphones are subjected to pressure and deformation attempts, which allows us to assess the rigidity of the structure. Thanks to the internal frame and reinforced structural elements, smartphones better resist bending.

Main testing scenarios:

  • multiple drops onto hard surfaces from a height of approximately 1–2.5 m, including at various angles (on the edge, corner, and back panel);
  • serial drop tests, where a device undergoes several consecutive drops without testing in between;
  • checking the body’s resistance to bending — both uniform and point (simulating pressure in a pocket or bag);
  • load in the form of compression and local pressure on the housing and screen;
  • assessment of performance after mechanical impacts: checking the camera, sensors, communication and display response;
  • testing the display after impacts, including checking the accuracy of the sensor and the absence of «dead zones»;
  • checking the tightness of the case after physical exertion (in the context of protection against water).

The technical foundation for durability is Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus® 2, which is better able to withstand impacts from drops on hard surfaces. Along with this, a multi-layer shock-absorbing design is used to distribute impact energy throughout the body, reducing stress on key components.
