The founder of Aerobavovna created a service for tracking Russian satellites "Rassvet"
Co-founder and CEO of the Ukrainian company Aerobavovna, Yuriy Vysoven, has developed a tool that predicts and displays on an interactive map the periods of geometric visibility of the Rassvet satellite group over the territory of Ukraine 72 hours in advance.
Co-founder and CEO of the Ukrainian company Aerobavovna, Yuriy Vysoven, has developed a tool that predicts and displays on an interactive map the periods of geometric visibility of the Rassvet satellite group over the territory of Ukraine 72 hours in advance.
The developer announced this on LinkedIn. According to him, the enemy satellite system in low Earth orbit (LEO), which is the Russian analogue of Starlink, currently has limited use — only a few short periods per day.
«I put together an application to see when and what communication window there will be from these satellites,» said Vysoven.
At the same time, the service page contains a disclaimer: the data displayed is only a prediction of geometric visibility and does not guarantee the actual operation of the communication channel. The presence of enabled payload, gateways, capacity, and beam distribution remains unknown.
In addition to monitoring, the developers are working on solutions to counter enemy infrastructure. While the number of devices in orbit is small, the team is creating an open-source jammer. The necessary frequencies and coordinates for directing the antenna are obtained directly from the system.
«1,000 such jammers — and we will jam over Kyiv. This is the EPPO in action,» the founder of Aerobavovna wrote on X (Twitter).
