No complicated editing or fussing with editors: AI video generator Pika has added a new Pikaswaps feature that allows you to replace any objects

Pikaswaps is a mix of real video and generated objects. In the free version, you can make up to 8 such swaps. But there are some restrictions for now: video up to 25 MB, first 5 seconds.

Previously, the service added the Pikaddition function, which allows you to add moving objects to a video. Therefore, all together — quickly removing objects from a video, adding new ones, and replacing them — is an opportunity to make a high-quality video without involving a video editor. A good tool for marketing, but at the same time, making convincing deepfakes has also become much easier.

The tool selects objects in the video using AI-powered automatic selection or manually, and then replaces them based on input. Users can describe the new object using text prompts or upload an image as an example to help the AI ​​create a more accurate replacement.

Additional features:

• you can use the precision editing brush, which allows users to manually select areas that need modification. The brush size is adjustable;
• If the first generated result is not perfect, users can ask the AI ​​again to correct the result or click the «Retry» button for new replacement variations.

Olexiy Minakov tested the new feature and shared the results on Facebook.

«I tested this new feature on Putin, or rather on a video with Putin: I changed his business suit to a clown suit; I changed the microphone in the frame to a banana, I changed Putin’s head to an alien’s head, I changed the background from a room to a fire,» wrote Olexiy.

He also changed the scene from «Harry Potter» — now instead of a feather, Hermione lifts a hot dog into the air.
