French music platform Deezer has launched a free online tool to discover tracks generated by artificial intelligence.
According to the company, this tool will be available to users of all major streaming music platforms, and they will be able to check which music in their playlists is generated by artificial intelligence.
Interestingly, Deezer’s AI music discovery technology is, of course, also built on artificial intelligence.
Thus, as Reuters writes, the free AI music detector will allow users of about 20 of the most popular streaming platforms to scan their playlists for music created by artificial intelligence.
On its own platform, Deezer flags songs generated by artificial intelligence and automatically removes them from algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists.
«This is the first step towards ensuring that these tracks do not significantly dilute royalties,» Deezer said.
Cisac research previously predicted that by 2028, artists will lose 25% of their income, or €4 billion per year, due to songs created by artificial intelligence.
Deezer itself receives almost 75,000 AI-generated tracks every day, representing over 44% of its total new music arrivals.
A recent survey by Deezer and Ipsos found that 80% of respondents would like music created by artificial intelligence to be clearly labeled on streaming platforms.
As dev.ua previously wrote, Spotify will mark tracks made with AI and launch a filter against fakes and mass duplicates.
