This was stated by the commander of the naval unit "Black Sea Legion" of the FERRATA unit with the call sign "Ninth" in the podcast Ukrainian Jenny meets.
"Devyatiy" said that from the FERRATA command post, the military controls ground robotic complexes and trains pilots for naval operations. They are also developing a large panel for reconnaissance and control of complex operations, including with the use of AI. However, the technical characteristics of the new FERRATA system are not disclosed.
The unit is betting on the connection "human + robotics + AI", because you can send robots to a certain territory or plant drones there, but until a person enters there, the territory cannot actually be considered captured.
"Kamikaze is already old technology. We are already three levels ahead," the military man explains.
One example of this approach concerns the sea. The Ninth claims that FERRATA is trying to move to much more complex scenarios. For example, maritime drones could potentially force a ship to stop, take control of it, and escort it to a Ukrainian port along with its cargo.
This could be done by a system of several drones. Some drones could monitor the deck, others could control the airspace. The Ninth also suggested that captured cargo, such as ammunition, could potentially be used against the Russians.
"This is a direct capture of a vessel using technology and skill. This is a cyborg, not just an unmanned boat. A cyborg, not just a robot," is how "The Ninth" describes this system.
