The National Police warns of three new fraudulent schemes, including on Telegram, using artificial intelligence.
The first scheme involves attackers gaining access to Telegram users' accounts. Then, using AI, the scammers create and send short voice messages to all contacts asking for money in loans, police said .
The second common fraudulent scheme is related to the purchase of biological supplements. Fraudsters present themselves as SBU employees and report that the victims purchased biological supplements online, and the funds from the purchase went to the aggressor country, which is financing military aggression against Ukraine.
The perpetrators then threaten that a criminal case will be opened against the victims, but to avoid this, it is necessary to provide available funds for verification. The money is offered to be transferred to a card or account, or handed over to a person at a specified location.
In the third scheme, scammers call the victim, supposedly from the “Bank Security Service” and inform them that their funds have been stolen. Under different versions, such scammers steal the client’s personal data or recommend transferring funds to a so-called “white” card to keep the funds in the bank.
