“Today we see a tyrant in Moscow — Vladimir Putin, a man who mourns the collapse of the Soviet Union”. AI modeled Reagan’s speech on current events
Austrian disinformation expert Dietmar Pichler conducted a small experiment — he asked the ChatGPT chatbot to simulate a speech by the 40th Republican US president, Ronald Reagan, who played a major role in the collapse of the USSR, regarding the current situation in the world. What AI-Reagan said.
«A little experiment: Since President Reagan is no longer with us, I got curious and asked ChatGPT what he could say about the current situation. The results turned out to be quite interesting», — wrote Austrian disinformation expert and founder of the Center for Digital Media Literacy Dietmar Pichler on X (Twitter).
His post features an AI-generated speech in the vein of Ronald Reagan, emphasizing U.S. support for Ukraine against a full-scale Russian invasion, echoing Reagan’s Cold War rhetoric against the Soviet Union. It references Reagan’s historical stance, including his calling the USSR an «evil empire.»
Ronald Reagan speech from 2025, simulated by ChatGPT
«My fellow Americans. I speak to you today not as a Republican, not as a Democrat, but as an American who believes in freedom, in democracy, and in our sacred duty to oppose tyranny wherever it appears.
For decades, the United States has been a shining city on a hill—a beacon of hope for the oppressed, a defender of freedom, and a friend to those who struggle for their own freedom. That is who we are. That is who we have always been. And that is who we must remain.
Today we see a tyrant in Moscow — Vladimir Putin, a man who mourns the collapse of the Soviet Union not because he wants peace but because he wants empire. A man who suppresses dissent, silences opponents, and wages war against a free and sovereign Ukraine.
And yet, we hear voices here at home— some even in our own party—who would rather appease this dictator than stand up to him. Who would rather shake his hand than stand up to his aggression. Who ridicule and belittle a man like President Zelenskyy, not because he has failed, but because he has dared to succeed. Because he has dared to resist. Because he has dared to stand up and say, «Not today, never!»

Let me be blunt: America does not bow to tyrants. America does not abandon its allies. America does not betray those who fight for the very ideals on which this nation was founded.
Some would like us to withdraw into ourselves, to withdraw from the world stage, and to embrace those who despise our way of life. But we have seen this story before, and we know how it ends. Weakness breeds aggression. Silence encourages oppression. And appeasement? Appeasement is only a prelude to disaster .
So I ask you, my fellow Americans: Will we stand with a man who jails his critics, poisons his opponents, and invades his neighbors? Or will we stand with a man who fights — not for conquest, but for the right of his people to live in peace and freedom?
If America wants to remain Earth’s last, best hope, we must make wise choices. Because the free world is still watching us, as it always has. And I say, as I have always said: Mr. Putin, we will not give up. And Mr. Zelensky, we stand with you .
God bless you, and God bless the United States of America.»
What is Ronald Reagan known for?
Some users disagreed that Reagan would support Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
«Of course, he would prefer a former KGB agent who called the collapse of the Soviet Union „the greatest geopolitical catastrophe“… Reagan called the Soviet Union an „evil empire,“ so don’t make a fool of yourself…» -, replied Dietmar Pichler.
As is known, Ronald Reagan’s foreign policy was aimed at combating communism, strengthening US military power, and ending the Cold War. He initiated support for anti-communist movements around the world, including in Afghanistan and Nicaragua. Many political scientists believe that Reagan played a decisive role in weakening the USSR and ending the Cold War, and his policies and economic pressure hastened the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.
Ukrainian tech entrepreneurs also spoke out in support of the Ukrainian president. «No, this is complete bullshit! The leader of a nation that claims to establish world order blames the victim for not being destroyed quickly enough. What else?», commented on Trump’s statements by monobank co-founder Oleg Horokhovsky.
«F**king to power is a national pastime. Journalists can easily remove a minister. And this is during a war. What a f**king dictatorship.» Konotopsky, Gorokhovsky, Logvin — on Zelensky’s rating and Trump’s accusation of him being a dictatorship
Як нейромережі бачать вільну та незалежну Україну? Тест dev.ua
