American Shield AI will integrate Hivemind AI into Ukrainian drones

«The V-BAT system is already operating in Ukraine today, providing intelligence collection, surveillance, reconnaissance, and target identification. Thanks to Brave1, we have established a partnership with a Ukrainian company to integrate Hivemind into domestic unmanned systems and expand the scope of their application», — Shield AI reported.

Hivemind is an AI-based software platform that enables drones to perform complex missions without communication autonomously. Hivemind also enables drones to team up and operate as a swarm.

The platform consists of several specialized tools:

1. Hivemind Pilot — directly controls the aircraft. It is already used on the V-BAT and MQ-20 Avenger reconnaissance drones and has even been tested on the modified X-62A VISTA fighter jet.
2. EdgeOS is an operating environment for running artificial intelligence directly on the platform’s onboard system.
3. Commander is a set of mission management tools in which a person acts not as a pilot but as a commander who defines overall tasks.
4. Forge is an environment for developing and training AI algorithms.

Recall that last year, Shield AI announced the start of training with fighters of the Unmanned Systems Forces to prepare the Ukrainian military to work with the V-BAT, a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) drone that has proven itself well in countering electronic warfare.
