Ukrtelecom CEO Yuriy Kurmaz will be the speaker of the opening panel «Operators' View on the Development of Optical Networks in Central and Eastern Europe», where he will share his own vision of the future of optical infrastructure and challenges for the industry.
«It is a great honor for us to represent Ukraine at the FTTH Congress for many years. This year, it is especially important to share Ukrtelecom’s experience in ensuring resilience — because the issue of resilience of networks capable of withstanding any crises is more relevant than ever for the countries of Central and Eastern Europe today. We build optics during wartime, protect it from enemy attacks and, at the same time, provide millions of Ukrainians with access to modern digital services. This is a unique experience that can be useful for the entire region,» emphasized Yuriy Kurmaz.
Separate presentations will be given by Commercial Director Ihor Yaremchuk and Senior Business Development Advisor Oleksiy Khakhlyuk. They will present the case of Ukrtelecom on the company’s work during a full-scale war — from technical resilience and operational solutions to team interaction.

And I am convinced that this experience will be useful for colleagues throughout Europe,» emphasized Ihor Yaremchuk.
The congress program also includes a panel titled «Cybersecurity and Resilience,» featuring Oleksiy Khakhlyuk. He will talk about Ukrtelecom’s practical approaches to cyber defense: from implementing zero-trust principles and network segmentation to the continuous operation of critical systems and restoring infrastructure after damage from hostile attacks.
For Ukrtelecom, this is not only an opportunity to share experience, but also to join the strategic discussion about the future of optical infrastructure in the region.
