Nova Poshta has introduced an artificial intelligence-based tool that takes daily photos of each of the logistics operator’s branches and reports on compliance with standards.
This was stated by Nova R&D Director Yevgeny Khomenko at the Forbes Ukraine AI Summit on November 27. This helped the company save money on physical inspections by top management and improve the quality of service.
Before the tool was introduced, the company used standard checks: a Nova regional manager would go to partner branches, giving advance notice of his arrival, Khomenko said. «He would arrive, and everything would be as in the book. And then we would see that customers would speak a little differently,» he explained.
According to Khomenko, Nova has implemented technology that allows for automatic tracking of compliance with standards. The entire branch network is equipped with cameras and must meet certain standards, which are written down as a checklist.
Every day, the AI takes a photo of each department and immediately analyzes it for compliance with standards, says Khomenko. «Where is our employee? Is he in uniform? Are any marketing communications in place? Is our trash can overflowing?» Khomenko explains.
Thanks to process automation, the company was able to significantly reduce the time and resources spent on quality control in various departments. And also improve the quality of service, says Nova’s R&D director. «We are training our artificial intelligence models to give advice that improves interaction with business partners. We have stopped cooperation with some partners because technologies, in particular AI, can replace their services,» Khomenko shared.
