The Pustomyty District Court of Lviv Region found guilty a woman who tried to send a flight control unit from a Russian drone «Geran-2» abroad.
As evidenced by the verdict in case No. 450/141/26, in September 2025, a woman in Vinnytsia formed an international express shipment through Nova Poshta to the Netherlands and made a customs declaration, where she indicated the contents as «computer parts» worth 113.87 euros. The shipment went through international postal exchange at the Lviv-Poshtovy customs post in Murovany, where during the inspection, customs officers discovered inside the flight control unit «B-101» of the prowling UAV «Geran-2» of Russian production.
The court established that this product belongs to military goods, the international transfer of which is subject to state export control. The case materials directly indicate that the woman did not have permission from the State Export Control Service of Ukraine for such a transfer. Her actions were qualified under Part 1 of Article 333 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely, violation of the established procedure for international transfers of goods subject to state export control.
At the trial, the accused fully admitted her guilt. She explained that she did this «in connection with obtaining income» and was unaware of the need to obtain a separate permit for the international transfer of such goods. The court took into account that she had no previous convictions, was sincerely remorseful, and contributed to the disclosure of the offense.
As a result, the woman was fined 34,000 UAH. She was also charged 17,828 UAH for procedural costs for conducting examinations. The court ordered the destruction of the material evidence (the flight control unit from Gerani-2) and the return of the mobile phone to the owner. The verdict can be appealed within 30 days.
This case is important not only as a separate verdict. It shows that export control applies not only to weapons in general, but also to individual components and assemblies of military equipment. That is, even an attempt to send a single element of a combat drone abroad without proper permission can result in a criminal case, a fine, and the destruction of the seized item.
