Swarmer intends to establish a company for the production of air defense systems in Poland.
This intention is enshrined in a memorandum of understanding with Vectus Air Defense Systems, a company in which Swarmer owns 20% of the shares.
According to the document, Vectus must purchase and deploy at least 40 Swarmer-made air defense systems within the first year and 80 or more within the second year after production begins.
The memorandum covers the production, sale and deployment of integrated air defense systems in relevant markets.
“We intend to create a comprehensive solution that will include radars, cameras, fire control systems and devices to combat various threats, including Shahed-type jet attack drones,” assured Alex Fink, CEO and President of Swarmer US.
Such systems would use Gatling-type rotary guns capable of firing 20 mm shells at a rate of up to 6,000 rounds per minute.
Fink estimates the retail price of each air defense system at approximately $5-6 million.
“I believe these systems will be in high demand because they are portable and affordable. High-speed enemy drones can outrun an interceptor, but they can’t outrun thousands of 20 mm rounds,” said Erik Prince, who is both CEO of Vectus and chairman of Swarmer.
As previously reported by dev.ua, drone swarm software developer Swarmer has announced an equity investment in a new company, Vectus Air Defense Systems, which specializes in providing air defense services to governments and critical infrastructure operators.
