Ukrainian Swarmer integrates drone swarm software into American Powerus drones

Ukrainian-American technology company Swarmer and American drone manufacturer Powerus have announced a strategic partnership. The parties signed a memorandum of understanding that provides for the integration of Ukrainian software for controlling drone swarms on Powerus UAVs.

This is reported by Defender Media. The joint tests will cover both aircraft and promising autonomous maritime systems, which are being worked on by the American developer.

The American company Powerus, based in Florida, is known for producing heavy cargo helicopters xFold Dragon, which are currently presented in three versions. In addition to logistics platforms, the company creates drones for reconnaissance and surveillance, FPV strike drones controlled via radio and fiber optics, as well as interceptor drones. Another ambitious direction of Powerus is the conversion of civilian and military naval vessels into autonomous unmanned systems by integrating its own software, sensors and communication complexes.

Within the framework of the partnership, Swarmer and Powerus plan to evaluate the effectiveness of coordinated operations involving large groups of drones. In particular, scenarios of countering hostile UAVs and protecting critical infrastructure facilities will be tested. The possibility of future scaling of production at the American industrial base of Powerus and involving its network of suppliers is also being considered. At the same time, the developers note that the current document is in the nature of a declaration of intent and does not yet oblige the parties to joint production or procurement.

The Powerus startup was founded in 2025. The company is actively supported by Donald Trump’s sons, and it itself has entered the second phase of the US military program Drone Dominance, aimed at testing the latest strike UAVs. Earlier, Powerus co-founder Brett Velichovych announced the company’s intentions to acquire Ukrainian developers of unmanned technologies or license their solutions for integration into US defense projects.

Recall that Ukrainian drone manufacturer Meta Bureau has signed a large-scale contract with Ukrainian-American company Swarmer to supply software for autonomous drone control. The initial cost of the deal is $2.86 million, but if all options are exercised, the amount may increase to $13.2 million.
