"Everything will go towards maximizing the use of machines instead of people." The Ukrainian company SKYRIPER explained how its homing system for Triglav drones works

The Ukrainian company SKYRIPER, which produces unmanned aviation complexes, explained how its universal homing system for drones and airplanes «Triglav» works. The developers say that one of their key aspirations was to make the system work right out of the box.

The representative of SKYRIPER told about this in the video of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

«The situation at the front is such that EW is constantly shooting down and preventing our pilots from reaching the target. The idea was to make the most effective and the cheapest possible development, which will help pilots to fly,» says SKYRIPER.

The company said that they are working on increasing the distance at which detection and fixation on the target is possible. According to them, a distance of 300 meters is currently considered the norm, while the development of SKYRIPER at the time of the application for the BRAVE1 grant had already reached 600 meters. The developers aim to increase it to 1000 meters.

«We want to make it as cheap as possible so that the majority can also use it from other teams. The main challenges of the problem are precisely to targeting. That is, we see the target, we know where it is, we fly to that square, we choose this target and, regardless of the current situation, WRE, not WRE, the pilot has enough skill, the pilot does not have enough skill, we this target impress This is the main task for which we started doing this development of ours,» explained the representative of the company.

According to her, the idea of SKYRIPER was that the Triglav system should work «out of the box». That is, the pilot should have minimal time to learn how to use it. However, in order to master the use of the homing system and digital control of drones, a pilot will need a certain number of flights to learn to lock in on the target, «pull the trigger» and control the result.

The company noted that they strive to put into mass production something that «already works, flies.» SKYRIPER expects this to happen after tests that should be completed in the coming months. The representative of the company believes that «anyway, we will come to the use of artificial intelligence in such developments, to the use of artificial intelligence in drones, strike aircraft and robotic systems.» This should be the next step.

«Every life is important to us, and we want what we do to help save these lives. And in fact, everything will still go to robotization, everything will go to the maximum use of machines instead of people,» SKYRIPER noted.
