Ukrainian deftech company TAF Industries presented a project to create its own SMT lines for the production of electronic components in Ukraine at the ReBuild Ukraine 2025 conference in Warsaw, according to Scroll.media.
Deputy Director of TAF Industries Volodymyr Zinovsky noted that currently, without our own SMT lines (Surface Mount Technology lines), these technologies have to be purchased abroad, which creates risks for supplies due to the geopolitical situation.
"This is not just a production line — it is strategic infrastructure that directly contributes to the stability of Ukraine and Europe," Zinovsky said.
One production line is planned to produce over 250,000 products of medium complexity per month. The total project budget is over €10 million. It is noted that the launch of production will provide over 100 jobs.
TAF Industries is considering co-financing options from European financial institutions as part of initiatives to support and rebuild Ukraine, but is ready to launch production independently if the negotiation process is delayed.
Earlier, TAF Industries founder Oleksandr Yakovenko said that he was going to move from Ukraine and run a business abroad after the war ended. He explained his decision by saying that he “deserved peace and basic justice” that he could not get in Ukraine.
