"Tanchik" was originally created as a logistics robot. But in the Tanchik Droid 12.7 version, the platform was armed with a 12.7 mm machine gun and turned into a reconnaissance and strike complex. Two Ukrainian companies worked on it: Overland Defense created the platform, and DevDroid added the Wolly 12.7 combat module and Droid Box, through which the operator controls the robot and its weapons.
The complex is armed with a 12.7 mm M2 Browning machine gun with an ammunition load of 400 rounds. The declared effective firing range is up to 1 km. The daytime camera can detect targets at a distance of up to 1.5 km, the thermal imager - up to 1 km. The system also supports automatic target tracking using AI algorithms.
On a single charge, the Tanchik can travel up to 25 km off-road or 35 km on-road. Maximum speed is 10 km/h off-road and 15 km/h on hard surfaces. It can move continuously for about 1 hour and 40 minutes, and in surveillance mode it can work for up to 48 hours.
Previously, dev.ua wrote that DevDroid is developing Droid Box as a universal control system for NRCs from different manufacturers. In April 2026, it was approved for use by the Ministry of Defense, and the company itself reported that Droid Box already works on more than 1,000 platforms and is integrated into eight different complexes. Among them are "Zmiy", "Ravlyk", "Bison" and the Tanchik Droid 12.7 itself.
