As noted in the official statement of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, since the beginning of the regime, the number of its residents has more than doubled. The dynamics demonstrate stable growth: if at the end of May the space included only 31 enterprises, then in July their number was 45. The expansion of the ecosystem is part of a long-term strategy to support Ukrainian manufacturers.
Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Hvozdiar emphasized that the initiative helps businesses focus on technologies and capacity building.
"Defence City is a systemic tool for the development of the Ukrainian defense industry. We create conditions for manufacturers that allow them to invest in their own development, protect teams and production facilities, scale production faster, and develop international cooperation," she emphasized.
Companies that receive resident status have access to a number of tax and customs incentives. In addition to financial benefits, the state offers opportunities for relocation, simplified procedures for exporting defense products, and the right to lease state property without holding auctions. A separate important security point is the restriction of access to sensitive information of enterprises in public registers.
To join the space, developers must meet the legal criteria and submit an application. The Ministry of Defense reviews the documents within ten working days, after which successful candidates are entered into the official register.
