A post from Tamara Kolyada, Business Software Solution Architect, appeared in Threads, in which she publicly criticized educational development courses promoted on social media and aimed at IT beginners.
The course is about FullStack courses on WordPress, which, according to the author of the post, are sold without verified professional expertise and with unrealistic promises about future salaries. The course is promoted by web developer Karina Reutenko.
In her post, Kolyada emphasizes that this is the second time in a day that she has come across a similar educational product, which, in her opinion, misleads people.
«I didn’t want to make this post, but this is the second infogypsy today who sells her „experience“ in the IT field to inexperienced Threads users. Meet Karina Ivanovna Reutenko, or karen.lof, who has „FullStack“ courses on WorfPress, without having any relevant experience or education in this field. She opened bitbrain.online, which offers salaries of $2,500 to WordPress developers after completing her courses. She talks about 6 years in IT and teaches? how not to „burn out“ in IT — when she has never worked there before,» Tamara noted.
The architect notes that the author of the courses currently lives in Germany, has a closed individual entrepreneur in Ukraine in Poltava region, Dykansky district, village of Vodiana. «There is no other legal entity to run the academy. I graduated from the Pedagogical University in Poltava with a degree in Tourism and completed basic GoIt (html/css) courses. There are no completed orders on freelance platforms, a resume on work.ua from 2025 and other data confirm the absence of work. That is why such courses appear that are aimed at beginners or very gullible people,» Tamara is convinced.
According to Kolyada, the author of the courses, Karina Reutenko, claims six years of experience in IT and positions herself as an expert, but in open sources, according to the architect, there is no confirmation of real work in the industry — in particular, commercial projects or experience in product or outsourcing positions.
Tamara believes that the course author’s specialized higher education is not related to IT, and among the declared training are only basic courses in HTML and CSS. At the same time, the courses are sold as full-fledged training for FullStack developers.
Kolyada specifically draws attention to the use of what she believes to be incorrect terms in course promotion. Examples include phrases like «knowledge of HTML/CSS programming languages,» which in the professional environment are considered markup and style tools, not programming languages.
The post also mentions the mixing of the concepts of development and design, in particular the combination of Figma, logos, and programming in one list.
The biggest caveat, according to Kolyada, is the claim that you can earn $2,500 after completing the course. She believes such promises are unrealistic for beginners and create false expectations about the IT market.
According to the author of the post, after she asked public questions under posts about the courses, her comments were deleted and her account was blocked. This, Kolyada notes, was the reason for publishing the post.
Kolyada emphasizes that, in her opinion, such courses target the most vulnerable audience — beginners or people who want to change their profession — and sell them inflated expectations.
She emphasizes that she does not question the potential of individuals, but considers it unethical to sell paid courses with promises of high salaries without her own proven expertise.
She separately notes that in Ukraine the institution of professional reputation is only being formed, while in many European countries similar practices have long been the subject of public discussion.
