One of the representatives of the Barvinok-5 project, which is working on developing a digital video communication system for kamikaze drones to replace outdated analog video, spoke about the main advantages of his product and the state of its readiness.
«This is digital video that allows you to replace analog video, but retains all the good sides of analog video, for example, the fact that it is one-sided. At the same time, we remove all the negative sides of analog video — in particular, openness. That is, we add encryption. Analog video is also characterized by the ease of „jamming“. Our video will be difficult to suppress due to the fact that we use wide-spectrum pseudo-random frequency modulation (pseudo-random frequency modulation — Ed.) with very small packets,» a representative of Barvinok-5 explained to a dev.ua correspondent during the exhibition as part of IT Arena 2025.
According to him, it will be difficult for the enemy RER to see this, but even if they see it and start suppressing it, the Barvinok-5 has an adaptive PPRCH function.
«That is, we are starting to re-adjust the use of channels to other frequencies. And even during one flight we can change these frequencies several times. The only question is the antennas that will be used on board and at the ground station,» he added.
The interlocutor from the Barvinok-5 project also added that the product is nearing the end of prototype development, and they have already begun integration with manufacturers and military units.
He added that their team currently has six people who mainly work as part-timers, and the team is now looking for investment to fully transition to full-time work on the Barvinok-5 project.
According to a team representative, their first product, the BarvinokLRS control module, was made out of pure enthusiasm and is distributed free of charge on the front.
«This product is also REBostic, works on different frequencies with different RF frequencies, and this technology has already proven itself at the front. We simply distribute it for free, flash the modules to the military. There are reviews that it flies where others do not fly,» shared a representative of Barvinok-5.
