According to social media users, slow charging in a number of Ukrainian cities recently cost 16 UAH/kWh, and fast charging cost 20 UAH/kWh. Now prices have increased to 28-30 and 30-32 UAH/kWh, respectively, reports OBOZ.UA.
«I went through the charging prices of different networks. Almost all of them have increased. So far, the lowest price for slow charging is 18 UAH, for fast charging it is 23 UAH,» said one of the owners of electric cars.
Users have calculated that at the current price of fuel at gas stations, the price of one kilometer for typical gasoline cars can reach 4.5 UAH, and for diesel cars — even 3.3-3.8 UAH. In contrast, the cost of one kilometer for an electric car after the increase in charging prices can be 4.7-5.8 UAH.
ECOFACTOR, a company that manufactures charging stations for electric vehicles, explains that charging tariffs are set by the owner of a specific charging station.
«In 2026, the cost of electricity for businesses increased under market conditions, which directly affects the cost of charging. Because of this, tariffs may change in some locations — this is a general trend in the market,» the company said in a comment to Scroll.media.
The ECOFACTOR press service added that they promptly update tariffs in their application so that drivers see up-to-date information before the start of the charging session.
The reason for the increase in charging prices is the decision of the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities (NCRECU) to increase the maximum prices for businesses due to the purchase of imported energy during peak loads.
Accordingly, the cost of electricity has increased for entrepreneurs, who have raised prices for charging electric vehicles in order not to operate at a loss.
