At the same time, the Neuralink company itself has not yet responded to the publication’s request for comment on this topic.
Recall that this brain implant is designed primarily to help people with conditions such as spinal cord injury.
The first patient used it to play video games, browse websites, post on social media, and move the cursor on his laptop.
The company began testing its brain implant on humans in 2024 after resolving a number of safety issues with government authorities.
In September 2025, Neuralink announced that 12 people worldwide with severe paralysis had already received its brain implants and were using them to control digital and physical tools with their thoughts. It also raised $650 million in another funding round in June.
