The Ministry of Digital Transformation signed a memorandum with the Latvian company Tilde and the National AI Center of Latvia, together with the Government Office for the Coordination of European Integration. What does the cooperation entail?
The Ministry of Digital Transformation explained that to integrate with European legislation, Ukraine needs to analyze and implement about 30,000 acts of European law, and if this is done manually, the process could take years.
«To accelerate European integration, we are developing an AI tool for translating and analyzing European legislation. Latvian translation technologies will become the basis for our AI assistant», the ministry reported.
Ukrainian government agencies already use Tilde’s AI technologies to automatically translate documents. The memorandum consolidates this partnership and opens up new opportunities for attracting international technical assistance.

Tilde is one of the leading European companies in the field of language technology, developing neural machine translation systems, LLM-based chatbots, speech recognition technologies, and providing localization and terminology solutions.
The company previously released TildeOpen LLM, an open-source, core language model designed to serve underrepresented Scandinavian and Eastern European languages. The model has over 30 billion parameters and «addresses performance gaps faced by speakers of 19 major languages» representing over 165 million people in current AI systems.
