The Ministries of Defense of Ukraine and Lithuania, together with the Brave1 cluster, are launching a new innovation support program, Brave Lithuania. It is aimed at accelerating the creation of defense-tech solutions, including unmanned systems, electronic warfare, and artificial intelligence.
The launch of the initiative was announced by Yulia Svyrydenko during the NATO–Ukraine Forum in Vilnius. The official announcement was made jointly with Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginene.
Thanks to Brave Lithuania, developers from both countries will be able to more quickly create and implement technologies that are critical to the modern battlefield. In addition to drones and electronic warfare, this also includes advanced communication systems. On the Ukrainian side, the Brave1 defense technology cluster will directly coordinate and implement the project.
"Ukraine has a unique experience in creating defense technologies in the conditions of modern full-scale war. The unification of the defense innovation ecosystems of our countries opens up new opportunities for joint developments," the statement says.
It is also noted that since 2022, Ukrainian production capabilities in the defense sector have increased 50 times - from $1 billion to $50 billion.
The integration of Ukrainian defense-tech into the European market is actively gaining momentum. It recently became known that Ukraine and Germany will jointly produce the latest drones . These drones will have a flight range of up to 1,500 kilometers and will be equipped with artificial intelligence technologies, which will allow them to effectively hit targets even in conditions of active counteraction by enemy electronic warfare systems.
“We are ready to transfer everything related to defense innovations to them.” Bornyakov announced the transfer of the Brave1 defense cluster from the Ministry of Digital Affairs to the Ministry of Defense
