Ukrainian company Global Mark has developed a heavy autonomous underwater drone Sea Trident. The new ten-ton device is designed to destroy strategic maritime targets, logistical operations, and intercept enemy drones.
As reported by the publication "Military", the first public presentation of the domestic development took place during the Eurosatory international defense technology exhibition in Paris.
The drone is designed specifically for operations that require complete autonomy and low visibility. According to the developers, the Sea Trident is capable of delivering a payload weighing up to 1,000 kg. The device can penetrate disputed maritime zones unnoticed due to its ability to move underwater at a depth of five meters. At the same time, the maximum operating depth of the drone reaches 60 meters, which allows it to effectively operate in coastal waters.
The dimensions of the underwater vehicle are 10 meters in length, two meters in width and one and a half meters in height. The total mass of the structure reaches 10,000 kg. The cruising speed of the drone is 6 knots (11 km/h), and the maximum can reach 10 knots (18.5 km/h). Equipped with adaptive navigation systems, the drone is designed to perform long-term missions with a maximum range of up to 2,000 miles.
In addition to conducting long-range strike operations, the Sea Trident can be used to deliver cargo, as well as to detect and neutralize other underwater drones.
The GUR announced the "Magura era" and for the first time publicly presented new versions of Magura naval drones, which can operate in a swarm and shoot down Russian aircraft
