The Lviv IT Cluster presented the results of a comprehensive study of Ukrainian technology during the war IT Research Ukraine 2024. It notes that out of 51% of CEOs who plan to expand their offices, more than a third want to do so in another country. What else is in the research?
Currently, there are 2,118 active verified IT companies in Ukraine. Half of them are service, and 47% are outsourcing and 3% outstaffing. Another 31% of companies are food companies, the rest have a mixed business model.
«Ukrainian tech companies continue to open new offices, but mostly abroad. Of the 51% of CEOs planning to expand their presence, more than a third want to do so in another country. The most popular choice for a new location is Poland», — the researchers report. According to their data, 6% of CEOs plan to close their office in Ukraine.
IT Research Ukraine 2024 also adds that at the end of November 2024, the Ukrainian IT industry has 302,000 specialists. This is 1,6% less than in 2023. Of them, 238,000 live and work in Ukraine.
Also, the number of Ukrainian specialists abroad decreased by 3% compared to last year. Currently, their number reaches 62,000-64,000, as opposed to 65,000 last year.
The median income of technical specialists in Ukraine, according to IT Research Ukraine 2024, decreased by 1,7% compared to 2023 and is $2,590.
At the same time, the majority of respondents reported that their expenses have also increased: 75,6% in 2024, as opposed to 72,9% last year. The largest share of income goes to basic needs — housing rent, food, etc. Finally, no more than 23% of articles are allocated on average.
91.3% of Haitians direct part of the budget to charity. Of them, 5% bring more than a quarter of the income. The average monthly charity check for one IT professional is $235.
