This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"The launch of the DOT-Chain Defence weapons marketplace played an important role in the development of the Ukrainian drone market. The system created a market model in which purchasing decisions are made by direct users — military personnel of combat brigades," the department noted.
This approach has increased competition between manufacturers and motivated them to constantly improve their technologies and services, the Ministry of Defense believes. It has also given manufacturers the opportunity to forecast demand and scale production.
Recall that during the 7 months of operation of the DOT-Chain Defence IT system, the military received 500,000 assets, the total cost of supplies is UAH 23.3 billion . The most popular categories were FPV drones, including fiber-optic ones, heavy attack drones (bombers) and reconnaissance aircraft, and wing drones.
In March, the Ministry of Defense changed its approach to drone procurement: the need is formed automatically based on battlefield data — without the human factor. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, at the request of units, forms a list of UAVs for procurement with only technical characteristics — without a name or specific manufacturer.
Overall , in 2025, the share of weapons, equipment, and ammunition contracted by the Defense Procurement Agency of the DOT from Ukrainian manufacturers increased from 46% to 82% compared to the previous year.
