Yulia Shtukaturova, who became Europe Region Head at GlobalLogic in June, spoke about the role of the Ukrainian division in the company’s structure.
«Ukraine remains the second largest GlobalLogic hub in the world after India and the largest in Europe. This office is a high priority for us. Ukrainian specialists have always been a central part of project teams. In particular, key expertise in industries such as telecommunications, media, healthcare, and automotive is concentrated here», — Shtukaturova said in an interview with DOU.
She added that GlobalLogic remains in Ukraine and is «focused on development» and assured that «there have never been any thoughts of reducing our presence in Ukraine» despite the slowdown in growth due to the war.
Yulia Shtukaturova said that the company currently has no plans to open new offices in Ukraine, but does not rule out such a possibility if growth occurs. The head of GlobalLogic’s European region indicated that the company does not force Ukrainian specialists to regularly go to the offices due to security challenges.
«For the third year in a row, during the heating season, we have been organizing temporary coworking spaces in cities where there are many of our specialists but no offices. This is a backup plan to ensure continuity of work during alarms, lack of electricity or the Internet», — Shtukaturova noted.
According to her, the demand for Ukrainian IT remains high, although it is «limited by the war situation.» She believes that small companies experience fewer problems working with Ukrainian talent because they have a simpler decision-making structure.
«Large corporations, on the contrary, are more regulated, and it is more difficult for them to work with Ukraine, which is why we are observing a slowdown,» Yulia Shtukaturova pointed out.
«I didn’t want to leave GlobalLogic, but my country faced some difficulties.» GlobalLogic officer and IT specialist Andriy Zadorozhny, who was mobilized in 2022, died in the war
