Ukrainian military flight simulator Ukrainian Fight Drone Simulator (UFDS) has received a major update, the main feature of which was the launch of a multiplayer mode. The updated version of the platform is already available for users on Steam.
This was reported to dev.ua by the project developers. The simulator, which was created in collaboration with experienced Ukrainian UAV operators, now allows you to practice not only individual piloting skills, but also team interaction in conditions that are as close to combat as possible.
The new multiplayer mode combines elements of PvP, cooperative gameplay, and special training scenarios into a single system. Users have the opportunity to coordinate joint drone operations in groups of up to five people, as well as compete against each other for speed on special race tracks.
The developers emphasize that in real-world conditions, the success of FPV operations depends not only on the skill of an individual pilot, but also on the coordinated work of the entire group - coordination and joint mission execution. UFDS multiplayer is designed to fill this need.
The project differs significantly from classic flight simulator games in that it has a deep physics engine. It reproduces in detail the behavior of a drone depending on its configuration, the influence of the weight of the ammunition, as well as environmental factors that interfere with the operator's communication, control, and visibility.
"What at first glance may seem like game mechanics are in reality the daily challenges faced by pilots on the front lines," the project's authors note.
The Ukrainian Fight Drone Simulator has been used for professional military training for four years. During this time, the platform has trained over 7,000 drone operators.
