Ukrainian schoolchildren and teachers were provided with about 100,000 devices. At what cost was this achieved?
As part of the «Device Coalition» project, about 100,000 gadgets for online learning have been transferred to Ukrainian schools, which are distributed among both students and teachers.
As part of the «Device Coalition» project, about 100,000 gadgets for online learning have been transferred to Ukrainian schools, which are distributed among both students and teachers.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science, this figure also takes into account planned deliveries in March and April 2025.
«To track the need for devices and effectively control the process of their distribution, we have launched a public dashboard,» commented Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
Most of the devices were provided for use by students (87,000), another 12,000 were allocated for teachers, and 1,700 for educational centers and classes of the New Ukrainian School project.
According to First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Yevhen Kudryavets, the project brings together more than 14 international and national partners, thanks to whom it was possible to finance these needs.
«We are aiming to close the critical need for 125,461 devices and most of the work has already been done. We expect to fully achieve this goal by 2025,» he noted.
The Ministry of Education and Science added that the priority for providing gadgets has become frontline and border regions. The coalition also focuses on the most vulnerable categories of children: from low-income or large families, internally displaced persons, children with special educational needs, persons with disabilities, and those deprived of parental care.
Most of the devices are transferred to the ownership of educational institutions, and the institution’s administration provides them for free use to students and teachers who are in greatest need.
As dev.ua reported, Mykhailo Fedorov announced the completion of the beta test of the educational application «Mriya». It was also announced that its functionality may be expanded to preschool education and universities.
