«Now contracts for military equipment from the „Weapons of Victory“ list will be concluded for the entire production cycle: development, production and repair,» Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal said in his Telegram channel.
He recalled that the Cabinet of Ministers launched the «Weapons of Victory» program at the end of 2024, forming criteria for manufacturers who receive guaranteed long-term contracts from the state for three, five, or ten years.
Among these requirements:
«The implementation of long-term contracts will accelerate and scale production, ensure continuous supply of weapons and equipment to the units, and open up development prospects for the Ukrainian defense industry for decades,» Shmyhal expressed his vision.
In addition, the Minister of Defense announced another important news for the Ukrainian defense industry: six state and private banks are creating a consortium and signing an agreement to provide a loan of UAH 21.5 billion for a period of three years under state guarantees.
«This and similar solutions open up opportunities for the defense industry to scale and modernize production. And most importantly, they allow us to provide the Ukrainian army with the necessary weapons more quickly,» Shmyhal explained.
As dev.ua reported, by the end of 2025, the Armed Forces should receive 3 million units of FPV drones, which is almost 2.5 times more than what was delivered to the Armed Forces last year.
Before that, the government approved the creation of an updated digital Register of Gunsmiths.
