Recall that on the night of June 8, an enemy drone attacked the Ukrposhta sorting hub in Kharkiv. The hit caused significant damage to the building and a large-scale fire that covered about 1,000 square meters.
«The amount of losses of Ukrposhta from the damage to the Kharkiv hub will exceed UAH 11 million. Of this amount, over UAH 1 million will be paid to customers for destroyed parcels. We are already contacting customers, helping to arrange payments and within 1-2 days we will compensate for all losses from the moment of submitting the application,» said Ihor Smilyansky, General Director of Ukrposhta.
Currently, Ukrposhta, together with the owner of the sorting center, is actively evaluating plans for its restoration. The company emphasizes that they are not going to leave Kharkiv and are already looking for options for restoring the hub. While restoration work is ongoing, the national operator has rebuilt logistics through backup sites and established stable delivery of parcels, letters, newspapers, medicines, and other goods.
Smilyansky also reminded that Ukrposhta does not receive any subsidies, grants, or subsidies from any budget, so the company will cover these losses from its own profits.
