Ukrposhta is changing the order of service in city branches: priority is given to receiving parcels — and here's why
Ukrposhta is updating the algorithm of work of city branches to speed up the processing and delivery of parcels in conditions of frequent air alerts. From now on, the first priority is the receipt of parcels, and the next is their delivery.
Ukrposhta is updating the algorithm of work of city branches to speed up the processing and delivery of parcels in conditions of frequent air alerts. From now on, the first priority is the receipt of parcels, and the next is their delivery.
This was announced by the General Director of Ukrposhta, Ihor Smilyansky.
According to him, such changes are due to security risks and the specifics of logistics during emergencies, when the working hours of departments are forced to be reduced.
"We strive to deliver your parcels as quickly as possible. However, due to constant alarms, the opening hours of the branch may be reduced. And that is why, while there is such a possibility, we will accept your parcels as quickly as possible so that they begin their journey to the recipient," noted Igor Smilyansky.
The CEO explained that for timely delivery between cities, a parcel must reach the sorting center by a certain time. If a person is waiting in line and an alarm is announced at that moment, the shipment is postponed to the next day. Instead, a parcel that is processed before the alarm is sent immediately.
Another important factor for priority delivery is the preservation of the contents of the items.
"Despite the fact that in the event of parcels being lost during shelling, we fully reimburse our customers for their value, money often cannot replace the joy of receiving a parcel, especially if there is something very personal inside. Therefore, we strive to do everything possible to quickly deliver parcels to our customers so that they do not have to stay in the branches for a long time, and even more so do not spend the night there," the head of the company emphasized.
The head of Ukrposhta also added that the changes will not negatively affect the quality of financial services (pension payments, payments, etc.). Since digital data is protected on servers, clients will be able to receive these services immediately after the air alert is completed within the same day.
More than 90% of city branches that have more than one operating window have already received the new instructions. They will have special "Express windows" in the new mode.
In the future, Ukrposhta plans to expand the network of post offices and launch self-service stations.
At the same time, the rules of operation during "yellow" and "red" alerts remain unchanged for now, and the company is preparing proposals to take into account the specifics of the national operator's work in the winter period.
