The Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom, Valeriy Zaluzhny, announced the start of work on the production complex of the Ukrspecsystems company, which produces Shark drones.
«Launching production in the UK has a deep strategic logic. This is not a transfer of the center of gravity from Ukraine. This is an expansion of our joint capabilities and the creation of a second resilience loop that guarantees the continuity of production,» Zaluzhny said during the grand opening of the plant.
He noted that the Ukrspecsystems engineering expertise center remains in Ukraine, and production is «integrated into the British defense space.» Earlier, UKRSPECSYSTEMS UK reported that they are positioning the new site as a joint Ukrainian-British engineering and production center capable of scaling developments, including such as the MINI SHARK reconnaissance drone.

«For Ukraine, this project means stability and the possibility of long-term planning. For Britain, it means strengthening its own defense industry, access to technologies proven in modern warfare, and job creation,» said Valeriy Zaluzhny.
According to him, the opening of the Ukrspecsystems production complex «has a strategic and even civilizational dimension» and lays the foundation for a new European security architecture.
Last autumn, it was reported that Ukrspecsystems was planning to build a 11,000 m² factory in Mildenhall and a testing and training centre in Elmsett, Suffolk. The company has invested £200m in the project.
