This is stated in the company’s report. For the first three months of the year, Ukrtelecom’s revenue amounted to UAH 1.36 billion. EBITDA was recorded at UAH 252 million, EBITDA margin — 18,5%. Financial results were affected by the increase in electricity prices, which in the reporting quarter increased by almost 45% compared to the same period last year.
A key technological upgrade was the introduction of 1 Gbps speed for GPON subscribers across the country. Users received access to gigabit Internet regardless of the terms of their tariff plans.
«The introduction of gigabit Internet throughout the country is creating a foundation for the development of digital services and increasing the country’s resilience. Our experience in ensuring continuity of communication in wartime is important for the European telecom industry today,» commented Yuriy Kurmaz, CEO of Ukrtelecom JSC, on the results.
In the mass segment (B2C), the number of new connections to the optical network increased by 118%. The company attributes this dynamics to high demand for energy-independent Internet during long power outages in the first quarter. Revenues from optical access services increased by 14,2%, which partially offset the decline in revenues from traditional telephony.
The operator also reported that 26 medical and 67 educational institutions have been connected to the optics since the beginning of the year. The total number of such institutions in the network exceeded 1,410 and 1,990, respectively. Revenue from commercial real estate rental for the quarter amounted to over UAH 155 million (+22%).
The amount of taxes and fees paid to budgets of all levels during the reporting period exceeded UAH 417 million.
