Domestic developers have presented mobile systems capable of effectively servicing American F-16 fighters in wartime. This is Project 61, which has already been implemented and transferred to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The first details about the initiative appeared in a message from the Ukrainian Air Force on Telegram. The project created a unique "ecosystem" that includes a mobile mission planning complex for briefings and navigation support for pilots and two complexes for training and suspension of aviation weapons. They significantly speed up and simplify aircraft maintenance: if previously up to 12 people were needed to suspend one ammunition, now only three can cope with this task.
According to Serhiy from Office 61, which is responsible for aviation development, the system was created specifically for the realities of modern warfare, when aviation needs flexible and mobile solutions due to the constant threat of strikes on airfields.
The project was implemented at the initiative of the "Return Alive" Foundation at the request of the Ministry of Defense with the support of the state company "Ukrnafta", which contributed UAH 49.4 million. The development takes into account the experience of NATO countries and is adapted to the needs of Ukraine, allowing the use of F-16s even in difficult conditions of front-line logistics.
F-16s are multi-role fighters that Ukraine expects to receive from its allies. Their effective use requires not only pilots, but also technical infrastructure. Project 61 was the first such solution created domestically.
As a reminder, we also published an article about how Ukraine received its first ultralight SHARK aircraft with electronic warfare from the Czech-Slovak company SHARK.AERO. It can detect and jam enemy drones and will strengthen the defense of Ukrainian skies against Russian attacks.
