Ukraine approves European standard to improve mobile communication quality

The National Electronic Communications Commission (NCEC) has adopted a resolution approving the Procedure for the Deployment of Low-Power Base Stations. Thus, this legal act implemented the European regulation on Small Cells into Ukrainian legislation.
"This resolution implements into the legislation of Ukraine the European regulation on "Small cells" - Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1070 of July 20, 2020, which defines the characteristics of small wireless access in accordance with Article 57, paragraph 2 of Directive (EU) 2018/1972 of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing the European Union Electronic Communications Code," the NCEC statement says .
Small cells are compact radio equipment designed to cover small areas. Such equipment can be installed both indoors and outdoors, complementing operator networks to improve coverage, increase target capacity, and support new services and user interactions.
Small cells provide high-quality and secure cellular coverage, complementing operator networks for:
improving coverage in areas with weak signal;
increasing network capacity in areas with high user concentration;
support for new technologies, including 4G and 5G.
Low-power base stations have a wide range of applications , including:
in business centers, office and shopping complexes;
in passenger terminals and other transport hubs;
for creating private 4G/5G networks in enterprises;
in densely populated urban areas to relieve the burden on major operator networks.
So with this resolution, operators have clearly defined rules under which such radio equipment can be used. For subscribers, this means better network coverage and higher quality mobile communications in places where difficulties could previously arise due to weak signals or network congestion.
