Among the victims was an IT worker from Infopulse, who was raising funds for drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
ARMA reported that the search was carried out at the request of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine. During the search, ARMA officers found the following on the fraudsters' person:
11 land plots;
10 luxury cars;
11 residential and commercial real estate properties;
shares in the authorized capitals of enterprises worth over UAH 18 million;
funds in banks — over 22 million UAH and almost $10,000 (in equivalent);
intellectual property rights and other intangible assets.
«Asset tracing in cases involving the misappropriation of funds under the guise of assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine is an extremely important area of our work today. ARMA will continue to actively cooperate with the National Police to ensure economic security and restore justice,» emphasized Pavlo Velikorechanin, Deputy Head of ARMA.
Earlier, Head of Test Automation Practice at Infopulse Oleksiy Ostapov said that he became a victim of fraudsters when, having collected the necessary amount of money to purchase a drone for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he decided to use the help of supposedly verified volunteers. He noted that he was not the only victim, and in general, the group of attackers could have enriched themselves by more than 70 million UAH.
The activities of the fraudster group are currently being investigated under the direction of the Prosecutor General’s Office, and any assets found will be seized.
A citizen of Aityte, Infopulse, who was raising funds for a drone for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, fell victim to scammers. According to estimates by volunteers who also suffered from this scheme, the scammers made more than UAH 70 million
