VKontakte still hasn't restored traffic after drone attack. What does Cloudflare's data show?
Russian social network VKontakte has still not recovered from the Ukrainian drone strike on its data center near St. Petersburg on October 18. Two days later, network traffic has not returned to normal. Cloudflare Radar labeled the outage as “Disruption after drone strike.”
Russian social network VKontakte has still not recovered from the Ukrainian drone strike on its data center near St. Petersburg on October 18. Two days later, network traffic has not returned to normal. Cloudflare Radar labeled the outage as “Disruption after drone strike.”
This is evidenced by data from Cloudflare Radar, which monitors Internet traffic.
This is the AS47541 network in St. Petersburg, which serves, among other things, the main services VKontakte and VK Video. On October 19, the share of automated requests at its peak was about 52%. This is the share of requests that are executed by programs, not people.
But traffic from the Moscow network AS47542, which is used to deliver VK content, has increased . This may indicate that the company has moved some of its operations there from the affected data center.
Previously, dev.ua wrote that after the attack on the VK data center, two connections through which the company's network exchanged data with other networks on the Internet stopped working.
