Czech indie studio Amanita Design, best known for games like Machinarium and Samorost, will once again donate profits from all of its projects and DLC to the People in Need foundation, which helps Ukrainians. The developers added Ukrainian flags to the covers of their games on Steam, which did not please Russian players, who staged so-called review bombings.

«The people of Ukraine continue to suffer from Russian aggression. From March 26 to April 2, we will transfer 100% of the proceeds from the sale of our games and DLC on all platforms to the People in Need account to support humanitarian aid in Ukraine where Russian troops continue their
invasion, committing war crimes and atrocities against the civilian population,» Amanita Design said .

It is noted that the funds raised will help provide food,
heat, home repairs, and necessary assistance to families and individuals of Ukrainians suffering from Russian aggression.

«It is important to help while we can!» added Amanita Design founder Jakub Dworski.

Currently, a set of all the studio’s games can be purchased with a 73% discount for UAH 525. It includes the point'&'click quests Samorost 2 and Samorost 3, Machinarium, Botanicula, Chuchel, the port of the mobile quest Pilgrims, the horror platformer Creaks and the horror quest Happy Game, as well as their soundtracks.

In addition, as a sign of support, the developers added the Ukrainian flag to the cover of the game Samorost 3. This did not please Russian players who support the war against Ukraine, and they began to give negative reviews to the project.

This has lowered Samorost 3's rating over the past 30 days to 66% positive reviews, and it is now rated «mixed» (reviews). The overall rating for the game, which was released back in 2016, remains very high at 94% based on over 3,600 reviews.

«I cannot recommend Samorost 3 and in general any products from Amanita Design after learning that the developers financially support the Armed Forces of Ukraine (ASU),» wrote one Russian on Steam, despite the fact that the Czech studio only supported humanitarian initiatives.

Many other reviews from Russian players contain the traditional calls for «games outside politics» or simply meaningless spam of Russian invasion symbols. Other Amanita Design projects such as Machinarium, Chuchel, and Pilgrims have also suffered from spam of negative Russian reviews.

The Czech studio is currently working on a new project , Phonopolis. It is a story-driven puzzle game set in a 3D world made of hand-painted cardboard. The game does not yet have a release date, but it is known that it will have Ukrainian localization.

Let us remind you that this is not the first time Amanita Design has supported Ukraine, in particular, it organized the same sale with its games last fall. Ukrainian players can thank the Czech developers with positive reviews to compensate for the negative impact of Russian reviews.
